BLINDED
Once upon a time, there was a wealthy blind businessman named Jaira. Despite his blindness, Jaira was smart and talented. He started his own company with hard work and dedication and managed it passionately. To assist him, he hired a trustworthy assistant who was wise and loyal.
Jaira had two younger brothers, whom he cared for after their parents passed away. Growing up with Jaira’s wealth, these brothers were spoiled; they only knew how to spend money and looked down on those less fortunate. Busy with his business, Jaira didn’t realize how his brothers were becoming arrogant under the influence of his wealth.
One day, rumors and conspiracies about Jaira began to spread, and his business started to decline. The value of his company’s stocks fell, signaling trouble ahead. As Jaira struggled to recover from his losses, he started cutting down unnecessary expenses in the company. His loyal assistant suggested that Jaira look into his brothers’ spending habits, as this might help reduce costs a little. Taking this advice, Jaira decided to speak with his brothers.
When he tried to bring it up, his brothers insisted they weren’t spending much and even claimed they wore cheaper clothes than him. Being blind, Jaira couldn’t see through their actions, but he wasn’t foolish; he knew they were lying. He explained his financial troubles, even mentioning that he was close to bankruptcy, and left the decision to them, hoping they would understand.
They agreed to be careful with their expenses, but nothing changed. They continued gambling, drinking, and spending money like water, ignoring Jaira’s situation.Jaira turned to his assistant for help with the situation, and his assistant suggested a plan to merge the company with a competitor. At first, Jaira was hesitant, but when he met with his competitor, Pralok, he realized that Pralok was a humble man, much like himself.
Jaira informed his brothers that he had handed over half of the company’s stocks to Pralok. His greedy brothers were furious and immediately confronted Pralok, arguing that Jaira didn’t have the sole right to make such decisions without their approval. Pralok, however, ignored their complaints, which made the brothers resent him even more.
In their anger, they attacked Pralok, but Pralok’s bodyguards quickly restrained them. Pralok then filed a complaint, and the police took Jaira’s brothers into custody, putting them in jail.Jaira didn’t visit the police station, and his brothers had no contacts or lawyers to bail them out. Used only to luxury and comfort, spending a few days in jail made them realize their mistakes. They understood that Jaira had always been their shield and shelter, protecting them from hardship and struggle.
After three days, the police brought Jaira to their cell in handcuffs, and the brothers were shocked. They had never seen him in such a state—his clothes were torn, his hands were cuffed, and he was being dragged by the police. The brothers, stunned, asked Jaira what had happened.
Jaira replied, “I confronted Pralok for suing my brothers, and in return, he tricked me and took over the company.”
Already regretful of their foolishness, the brothers felt a deep sense of guilt. They hugged Jaira, crying, and said, “We’re so sorry for all the chaos we caused. You took care of us every step of the way, and when you were at your lowest, instead of supporting you, we made things worse. We were the ones truly blind, unable to see your worth and lying to you.”The brothers begged the police officers to release Jaira, telling them that he was a good-hearted person who had helped many people. Just then, Jaira’s assistant entered and spoke to the officers, asking them to release the brothers as well. Jaira’s brothers were surprised, and the assistant turned to them, saying, “Don’t worry, there’s no need to beg. We were only acting.”
Relieved, the brothers were grateful to hear it wasn’t real. Jaira then explained that Pralok had also helped with the plan. Humbled, the brothers promised Jaira that they would learn how to improve the company’s situation and support him in getting it back on track.
Jaira thanked his assistant and Pralok for standing by him despite his blindness. Pralok replied, “The truly blind are those who can’t see the real value of life—not you.”
